ABOUT US

The Flores Family welcome you to El Rincón Norteño Restaurant, where authentic Mexican food has been served for over 50 years! The Flores Family invites you to visit their Restaurant and enjoy authentic dishes where family tradition has become a Coachella Valley legend!

Prudencio, originally from Austin, Texas and his wife Estella of Santa Rita, New Mexico, moved to Indio in 1959 and started their family recipes with locals in 1964.

Rincón Norteño Cafe opened its doors for business next to the old Desert Theater on Fargo street. The small diner quickly became a local favorite, and despite the fact that it only had 15 stools, there was always a long line on the weekends.

Business continued to grow, so in 1979, Prudencio and his family moved down the street to its present location, at the corner of Fargo and Indio Blvd.

Prudencio, with the help of his wife, their children Eloy, Gustavo, Heriberto, Rosa and Prudencio Jr. all worked together and continued to make it a "Family Affair".
